The Kintbury 5 is organized in memory of former Newbury Athletic Club member Ollie Johnson who was tragically killed in an accident in 2005, aged 18.
The race helps raise funds for the Ollie Johnson Trust ,Kintbury St. Marys School and Kintbury Scout Group
Run on quiet roads and tracks around Inkpen and Kintbury, near Hungerford including by kind permission, some private roads. Start and finish at Kintbury recreation ground behind the Jubilee Sports Centre.
The course starts off undulating on tarmac roads until 2 miles, then follows a dirt and stony track, this is then followed by a flat 1.5 miles along a private tarmac road. To finish off, the last half a mile takes you through the centre of the village, along the high street and back to the recreation ground.
There is also a children's race, this will start at 10 am. On the day entries only.
This year we are also doing a 2 mile race open to anyone, but prizes for under 15`s only. Entry on the day. Start time 10-35 a.m.
5 mile race entry fees:
Affiliated entry fee: £8.00
Unaffiliated entry fee: £10.00
Entries will be accepted on the day unless the entry limit of 300 has been reached beforehand.
Entry fee for all runners on the day will be £10
Runners must arrive 30 minutes before start time to collect their numbers
